Well...I just ordered my first AG through global direct! Why do I feel nervous about that?

After the guy said something like $277Au...my stomach went all weird....my brain was ticking over like shall I back out.  I think all I need to do is keep reading all your positive comments though.  I got the AG for $199 then there was postage of $20, I'm getting the gourmet herbs for free , but I'm buying the lettuce seeds at $30, that seems like expensive lettuces....lol.  Then again, if you look at prices of often $3 at the stores..I spose that could pay itself off couldn't it?  The guy really tried to upsell...pretty much everything.  Tried hard to get me to buy two...if I could afford it, I think it would make a great gift.  He did manage to make me think it was worth buying extra bulbs now.  So...now I'm nervously excited.  In the meantime I will read everything on here...though some of it looks really deep lol.  Oh and one great thing about this is, it's my 21st wedding anniversary in December so mum is paying $100 towards it.  I might see who else wants to chip in as an anniversary prezzie...lol.  I will be keeping a note of every stage of progress...hope you don't get sick of me.

Have a great weekend

Hi Mels,   Welcome!  Enjoy

Hi Mels,

Welcome!  Enjoy your new growing machine.  Like the rest of the folks said, take your time and get to know how the the ag works.  THEN there is plenty of time to experiment.  Lettuce and herbs are a no brainer!  Please visit often and post pix of your new garden!

Take Care,

Beth

Thanks heaps Gisette!  I'd

Thanks heaps Gisette!  I'd love to spend the whole day just reading all the info on this site and checking out everyones pics...but unfortunately the house and washing won't get clean on their own.  The AG doesn't perform miracles like that does it?   Someone put a thread (perhaps yourself?) about being addicted.  I haven't even got the thing yet and I'm hooked.  I can imagine giving my hubby the whole bed to himself and setting up new camp next to my new baby to watch every second of growth...lol.  Apparently the light would sure keep me awake if I did that.  Ok, I really need to get some work done.  I'm not gonna check back here for....wow...at least an hour .  Thanks again for tips!

Mels - Try to keep the kit

Mels - Try to keep the kit plastic pod parts and the top labels - they can be washed (with bleach) and reused, stuffed with a number of things to replace the pod sponge, and there are other options for nutrients, and seeds are cheap. I did buy a Master Gardener's Kit - once, before I connected with other people online.

No need to worry about any of that, though, until the first garden is done.

Hey guys.  Thanks for replies.  Master Garden pack....?  Cool!  I'm happy to be adventurous and try different approaches...esp if it means saving money. From what I gather ...you can never stop learning.?  Can't wait!

Good luck, and welcome, Mels!

Good luck, and welcome, Mels! I'm sure you'll enjoy. The price - yes, that's hard.

21st wedding anniversary - congratulations!
