Strawberry Guy's Grow Logs

Tags:

I love the Aerogarden but get anxious to start harvesting. I sell gourmet strawberries as plugs and my wife sells herb plugs. We thought, what could be better than starting our plugs in an Aerogarden. So, we bought two Aerogarden Bounty models with the Grow Bowl option.

We documented the planting of our little gardens and plan to follow them pictorially over time. The image is of the Aerogarden when finished planting.

We hope you enjoy the Grow Log.

Hi Ginger:

Hi Ginger:

With the first Bounty I bought the Grow Bowl and Strawberry Kit. 10 bare root plants are included with the kit (they actually send 11). The instructions advise planting all 10 and after 2 to 3 weeks thinning it down to the best 6. With that info I realized that 6 actively growing plants is what I offer in one blister pack.

I've grown alpines for nearly 30 years so I know that given the space 6 alpines will fill in the available space pretty quickly. In the spring we will be offering two hybrid types that don't produce runners. We are also working on a couple of different types of plugs that won't require any pre-washing. At some point the herbs will be available this way as well.

Nice! Well done on creating a

Nice! Well done on creating a Grow Log without adminly assistance. yes Feel free to create child grow logs for other grows, if you want.

So that's the new Bounty, huh? Out of curiosity, how did you decide on 6 strawberry plants in it? Is that just the size of your kits?
