Outdoor Peas 2016

Ginger's picture

The peas seem to have survived the deep freezes! (Really deep - like forecasts threatened down to 20 degrees, even cold enough to kill peas. With ice, and snow, and hail. Blech.) Sprouted around 3/12 on the seed starting topic.

Yeah, well, June didn't stay

Yeah, well, June didn't stay hot. It was nice and cool! Got a great pea harvest, even 4 baggies that made it to the freezer because I couldn't eat them all, and that doesn't usually happen! (Usually they don't make it into the kitchen.) The July heat has arrived now, though, so the plants are dying back.

I have great intentions of deciding which peas I like best. I draw up schematics of what got planted where. And then I like them all, and enjoy the variety.

Happy pea plants, slowly

Happy pea plants, slowly gathering steam. More sun would be good.
