This year's eggplant gets a pot. Until I acquire a family of 8 to feed, I'm not growing an eggplant in a growbox again.
Though it did get a big pot, and a half-growbox nute strip. The transplant was about 6 weeks old.
Harvests: 22 (first ~7/28, small, but I needed it for ratatouille) - ended 10/6
Terminated the eggplant yesterday. One fruit turned yellow at a pretty small size. I decided that meant it wasn't really growing anymore. At any rate, I've eaten enough eggplant.

Eggplant suddenly got huge, and it's getting busy with the fruit development. Leaves look kinda bugged. That's OK. They taste good.

I grew eggplant in a growbox last year and got way too many for me to eat. Thus the more constrained pot this year.
Depends what variety of eggplant you grow. Fairy Tale is a small round bush, easy in a large pot. Most are bigger, like 24"-48" tall. They're fairly stocky, but could use a stake for support. Not a really a vine.
The growboxes are PVC plastic, I believe. Safe enough.

We've had some gorgeous cool-for-July weather, and the eggplant's setting more fruit. Not ripening them very fast... but I picked one undersized for ratatouille anyway.

Happy, blooming, buggy, but alas not showing any fruit set... Maybe too hot?
