Tweaked the theme a bit more

Tweaked the theme a bit more and installed today. These changes mostly had to do with formatting the frontismatter on a page (added "Last updated" line, typography niggles, byline moved to right, with user picture if any).

In general, I felt that in the original theme, the title of the page kind of swam in a sea of inexplicably placed infobits. It bothered me.

Edit: And also lined up the reply links on forums.

Thanks, Peat. Minor tweak

Thanks, Peat. Minor tweak today - this time moved the tabs and made them smaller. (The "tabs" used to be big chunky buttons underneath the page title. Now smaller button-looking things at upper right.)

Welcome Carl - the plant

Welcome Carl - the plant guide is on the way, been a bit busy moving house so it was neglected... Should have it tonight hopefully...

Gisette - The new look is very good, the green boxes don't appear heavy to me.

Well, I have pass 1 of the retheming done. Still need a logo, and still think the green boxes to the left are a bit heavy looking. But hopefully it's a little more cheerful.

Let me know if you think this is better or worse? And if it breaks anything.

Nice, Carl! I hope you'll consider making a growlog and sharing pix of your grows! Tomatoes are popular with everyone, but I love flower grows, too. I have zinnias growing at the moment in an AG mini (modded predecessor to the AG3), and have grown gazanias and petunias, too. Was your unit bought used, that the light seems aged?

On the comment-traversal order :  right before the first comment on a page, there are comment viewing options in a grey box. There are 3 drop-down option lists in that box - you want the middle one set to "Date - newest first".

Glad you like the suggestion and have figured out how to do it. Have you implemented it, and if yes, where do I find the toggle or switch to set my preference?

Gisette - I have not been at

Gisette -

I have not been at it for long. Have the AG Golden Harvest and Red Heirloom toms growing in the 6Elite. They have been in there for 9 weeks now, are about 10" tall, and the Golden Harvest has some 1/2" little ones showing.

The 3Elite was started about 3 weeks ago with Gazania, Zinnia and Petunia. They all sprouted but the Zinnia has gotten spindly and needs to be supported with a Sate stick. I got the unit of EBay and I think the light is old and needs replacing but until days ago, bulbs have been hard to come by. They are on order now and should be here within a week.

We'll give it a try for a while, and this forum is a great help (still waiting for Peat to finish his Chapter 3 review...). I may be back for more advice!

I like the 'comments per page' idea, it's so much easier having one scrollable page with every comment contained within. Thanks.

Negative results can be very useful. Probably mostly means not that many people have tried to grow carrots in an Aerogarden, thus Google searches on the subject lead to you, Peat.

Thanks re recent posts. So we're all mostly interested in that working really well.

Oh no, my carrot thread has somehow made it up the popular list?

Must surely be for the comedy factor alone and not for the spectacular success I had with it...
