Bad influence-

Hi All,

Well, I broke down and got an ag deluxe for work. That makes 4 and way to many for a normal person. I got the very last one from the nursery at $25 off plus an extra $10 off store coupon.  You were right - extremely quiet.  My original plan was one for work - but the elite or mini would have been just too noisy.   Seeded it with lettuce as a test.  Salad for lunch!  How cool!  And I plan on bringing in a mini bell pepper plant to share the light once the seedlings are big enough.

  It's all your fault

Ah, I've never grown head

Ah, I've never grown head lettuce in the AG. Looking forward to your results!

That was my original excuse, actually, for buying my first AG. I bought it with a Salad Chef kit (14 pods), on the theory that if I actually ate lettuce all winter, I would gain less weight than usual, and then losing weight in summer would be net weight loss for a whole year instead of the usual gain-15-lose-10 progression. This screwy promise actually worked... I weigh 10 lbs less than when I bought the pro100 15 months ago. Granted, I grew a whole lot of other vegetables and etc etc - 14 pods of lettuce alone didn't do it.

Hi Gisette, Hey, someone has

Hi Gisette,

Hey, someone has to take the credit for me eating healthier - that's my story and I'm sticking to it!  I seeded tom thumb and marvel of the four seasons.  Both butterhead lettuce - I'd rather wait for a full mini size head than cut and come again.  But I can steal a few leaves while it is growing  - at my desk!  What a novel concept!  I got to the nursery at 4:58 - didn't know they close at 5 in the winter.  I did run into an equally determined shopper purchasing a mini-greenhouse with hubby and kids in tow.  I could tell that determined gardener look in her eyes that she WAS getting that greenhouse NOW, whether it was 5 PM or not.  Have a good evening - I'm off to stare at my gorgeous tomato plants downstairs in the elite.

< bows > Why thank you for

< bows > Why thank you for granting me all fault and credit! I do so adore being responsible for the lives of others! It feeds my God complex -

Ahem. You'll love the lettuce! Mark your calendar. Three weeks to chomp. What kind of lettuce? (It's actually more like four weeks to chomp romaine, but then it keeps productive longer.)
