FWIW, using the Picasa
FWIW, using the Picasa Lightboxer (when Google's API is working, unlike this month ), is totally different. With that, I use Picasa (the Windows/etc application) to play with my pictures, crop, apply filters, sort into albums, add captions. Upload to Picasa. Then just click on thumbnails in the Picasa Lightboxer window to auto-generate those thumbnail-caption-big-picture thingies, from what I already told Picasa.

But Google's Picasa API has been hugely unstable over the years, and they just don't care.

So at the moment I upload to Picasa anyway, and then do the Insert/Edit Image thing by hand. Not ideal.

Do you still use PhotoBucket?
Do you still use PhotoBucket? The little Photobucket drag&drop gizmo probably still works. The Picasa lightboxer went south again a couple weeks ago.

I think I need to set this up to make it easier to upload pictures directly and store them at AerogardenMastery.com. I didn't want to do that before, because my cheapo web hosting plan didn't allow for a whole lot of storage. New plan, mega storage.

The never-fails method is to upload the picture somewhere on the web. Then use the Insert/Edit Image widget (next to the smiley on the editor toolbar), and give it the picture's URL. You can enter caption verbiage on that screen. This is to plonk the picture directly into your post.

What I usually do instead, is give the URL for the thumbnail of the picture, and the caption, then go to the Link tab on the popup, give the URL for the bigger picture, and below select "Lightbox, step-thru".
Yes. I need to make this better. No, that's not going to happen this week, sorry!
