The minis continue here from the 2013 topic, but the toy choi/green onions are 1 week old now - time for a 2014 topic.
9 week mustard and senposai, 23 week mimulus 1 week toy choi and green onions 1 week green onion in Aerogarden

I'm guessing one green onion per pod, but I'll leave two in one pod, to check that. I'd really like a continual supply of green onion in the kitchen. We'll see how that works out.

I planted green onions in potting mix the same day. Those are too small to be worth a photo yet - just emerged. I hope to replace my windowbox chives with windowbox green onions. We don't eat the chives anymore. They're just pretty, especially the purple pom-poms in spring, and the tall green spray contrast with short annual flowers. Anyway, growing onions is my learning theme this year. Along with brussel sprouts (for fall).

Replanting time all around
Replanting time all around today. I started flowers, lettuce, and toy choi in a Park Starts block 2 weeks ago. Even waiting 2 weeks, I only got 4 of the 6 flowers. Oh, well. Replanted the minis anyway, with two lettuce I can remove when the flowers get big enough. Or if one of the 4 flowers fails, just go back to having one greens and one flower mini.

end of 6 week toy choi and green onions 2 week seedlings - good summercrisp and toy choi, poor showing on the six flowers - only got four 28 week mims - the end 14 week mustards - the end (terminated lettuce splashers behind) 20 week splasher lettuces about to retire final lettuce harvest from 20 week splashers - in ethylene absorbing bag

Two out of three green onions seem to have suffered AG deck watering failure. But the third well-watered green onion didn't amount to much either. That's OK. I grew a 6-pack of green onion seedlings to try in place of my perennial chives in the railing planters. I'd use green onions more, though the chives sure are pretty in spring.

Looking forward to it,
Looking forward to it, Katherine - congratulations!

I meant like a scullery maid setup - for scrubbing vegetables and pots and muddy boots, etc., out of the way of the main cooking area. Sounds like exactly the same thing you were wishing for.

A little competition is a good thing. I'll probably launch a pulse for I'll Have The Soup and Salad next week. I'll let you know so you can get it free. Haven't done one in awhile.

Not sure what a gardening scullery is, but I would like a room big enough to keep all my gardening stuff in and a deep double sink.

Tough competition, Square
Tough competition, Square Foot Gardening and Paula Deen. In my category, the #1 slot is really in no danger at all from me and the backyard chickens.

I wanna gardening scullery.... What I have is a single sink in a galley kitchen. It works.

Congratulations on making # 2
Congratulations on making # 2 and being next to Square Foot Gardening! I know you must be excited. My southern cookbook gets to hang out with Paula Deen and Trisha Yearwood - no competition there. What was I thinking? Paula knocked me out of the top 20 after her media storm. Ouch. Boy did her fans ever rally aroun her. I have a nice collection of SnagIt shots too. You just can't help yourself, lol. I may try a Kindle Countdown just to see how it does on one of them.

Well, I got one of my gardens sanitized, but will probably wait until tomorrow to do the second one. Note to self: make sure next house has a room with a double sink to sanitize gardens that is NOT in the kitchen. Hubby seems to expect something cooked for the evening meal. Imagine that! Gotta move the sanitizing stuff and turn the kitchen back into a cooking area.

LOL! on the no-pollination.
LOL! on the no-pollination.

The Kindle Countdown is going well, thanks. Not a landslide, but a definite clump of sales, all at very low royalties. It got up to #2 in the Urban gardening category yesterday, right next to Square Foot Gardening. Took a screenshot of that for posterity!

It's especially fun given the other titles in that category. My book regularly dukes it out with titles like Backyard Chickens, Raising Goats, and Worms Eat My Garbage. Fun little group!

Thanks Ginger! I have two
Thanks Ginger! I have two gardens that I need to clean and sanitize and then decide what to plant. Decisions, decisions. I think it will be something that doesn't require pollination, lol. BTW, how is your Kindle Countdown going? I was thinking of doing that for one of my books. I've heard mixed results from several people.

Happy spring everyone. I'm baaack. Wrecked my back a few weeks ago pollinating my bell peppers, so have been spending quality time with my chiropractor. I can finally move around pain free and will be doing some serious AGing in the next few days.
